FranklyMail Drive: file storage and sharing with your business email

A project folder, a proposal for a client, or the documents your family needs to keep together. These files belong beside the conversations about them. FranklyMail Drive is now available to every FranklyMail mailbox, alongside email, Calendar and Meet.
There is no separate per-person Drive subscription. Files use your existing account storage pool alongside email. You can open Drive from the webmail sidebar or visit drive.franklymail.com and sign in with your mailbox. The illustration above is AI-generated artwork, not a product screenshot.
How to upload files and folders
Open Drive, select New, and choose a file or folder upload. You can also drag files and folders into the page. Nested folders stay organized in their original structure, and a folder upload appears as one progress row.
You can cancel a running upload from that row. Completed files stay in Drive, pending transfers stop, and their storage reservations are released. If you select the same folder again in the same location, Drive merges matching folders, keeps existing same-name files, and uploads the missing files. The panel tells you how many existing files were kept.
Retrying a folder does not overwrite existing same-name files, even when the local contents have changed. Rename a changed file before uploading if you want to keep a separate copy. If a file and folder use the same name, or older duplicate folders make the destination ambiguous, rename the conflicting item before retrying.
Share files with your team
Use the Share action on a file or folder to invite another FranklyMail mailbox. Choose viewer or editor access according to what the person needs to do. Sharing a folder also gives access to the items inside it. Review the people with access in the share dialog and remove access when the work is finished.
Every mailbox has its own Drive. Opening Drive does not give someone access to another mailbox’s private files just because both addresses belong to the same account.
Share with someone who does not use FranklyMail
Invite an external recipient by email from the share dialog. Their invitation includes a file link and an eight-character access code. They enter the email address you invited and that code to view and download the shared files. They do not need to buy a FranklyMail subscription.
External guests have viewing and downloading access, not editing access. Keep the invitation private. If your account administrator has disabled external sharing, that account policy still applies.
For content you intend to make accessible to anyone with the link, you can create a public viewing link instead. Review its expiry setting before sharing it. Public links do not use the invited-guest email and code check. Shared viewing and downloads use franklydrive.com, our separate file-serving domain.
How Drive storage works
Drive and email share the account’s storage pool. The base plan includes 10 GB pooled across the account, with storage add-ons available at the published rate. This is shared capacity, not an extra 10 GB for each mailbox or a separate Drive allowance.
Individual files can be up to 2 GB. Mailbox storage limits and account storage restrictions still apply. Keeping existing files during a folder retry does not reserve or charge their bytes again.
What is included today?
