Purelymail’s Simple plan is a fixed $10 a year, with no hard storage cap. Accounts using significantly more resources may need its advanced usage-based pricing, which can also be cheaper for light use. The $10 price above is the Simple plan.
Fastmail shows Individual for one person, Duo for two, Family for three to six, and Business Standard above six. Family is $132 a year for up to six people; Business Standard is $60 per user per year ($300 for five). Businesses can also mix plans. Fastmail’s 50 GB includes mail, calendars and contacts; the separate 10 GB is for files. Google’s pool is shared across Gmail, Drive and Photos.

Why is it $9?
The question every visitor is quietly asking. Here’s the business model, in public.
Per-seat pricing bills you for people: five mailboxes cost like five customers, and the address you make for your accountant costs as much as your accountant. A mail server doesn’t work that way: ten light mailboxes cost it less than one heavy archive. What it costs us is storage and outbound volume.
So we charge for the storage and give the headcount away: $9/year flat, unlimited mailboxes, unlimited domains, unlimited aliases, 10 GB pooled across all of them. Above the pool it’s $0.40/GB/yr. How many people share it is your business, not our billing model.
We keep overhead low: no sales team, no free tier subsidized by paid ones. And no bulk mail: spammers are the costliest customers in this industry, so we simply don’t take them.

Everything the panel does to your domains, mailboxes, aliases, forwarding and filters, it does over an HTTP API, and an account API key drives the same routes. Claude Code, Codex or a shell script can add ten domains, wait for DNS, create thirty mailboxes and start the mail copying, with nothing to install. One rule, and it is about what you ask an agent to build rather than how the API works. One account is one organisation. Mailboxes are for the people in yours, not for customers you charge or serve.

- What’s the catch?
- Storage. $9 includes 10 GB pooled; heavy archives pay $0.40/GB/yr more. That’s the whole trick: most inboxes are small, so most people pay $9.
- I don’t have a domain. Can I still get my own email address?
- Yes. Tell us the name you want and we register it for you, set the mail up on it, and hand you a working address, usually within one working day. $29 a year with the domain included, and nothing to configure: no DNS records, no registrar account, no waiting on anyone. Pick a name
- If you buy the domain, who owns it?
- You do. It is registered in your name, not ours: you are the legal registrant from the first day. Move it to another registrar whenever you like and we will hand over what you need. A domain we held on your behalf would be a hostage, and that is not a business we want to be in.
- Can I bring my email from Gmail?
- Yes, there’s a built-in importer. Give it your old server’s address and it lists every folder over there before anything copies, so you choose what comes across; Sent, Drafts and Archive land in the folders of the same name here, and read state, flags and original dates come with them. It works with Gmail, Fastmail, Purelymail, iCloud, Yahoo, Zoho and any standard IMAP host. Microsoft 365 and Proton block password access from their end; the migration guide says what to do instead.
- Really unlimited users?
- Really. Mailboxes are cheap; storage isn’t. Add your family, your co-founders, your alter egos: they share the storage pool.
- Can I send my newsletter from it?
- No, and we say that proudly. No bulk mail keeps our IPs clean, which keeps your one-to-one mail out of spam folders. Use a proper newsletter tool.
- What happens to my mail?
- No ad scanning, no profiling, no resale, and none of it trains anything. Boring on purpose.
- What if I want to leave?
- IMAP means your archive was portable all along. Point your DNS elsewhere and go: 30-day refund if we lost you in the first month.
