Introducing FranklyMail Calendar: email and scheduling on your own domain

A teal calendar, envelope and clock illustrate email and scheduling together.

FranklyMail Calendar is now available. You can manage events, send meeting invitations and share calendars alongside the email you already host on your own domain. Open FranklyMail Calendar directly, or choose Calendar in webmail. Sign in with your mailbox address and password.

If your work happens at an address like you@yourcompany.com, your schedule belongs with it. A client meeting should use your work identity. A weekly team call should be easy to repeat. And sharing a calendar should not require moving your email to another provider.

A calendar alongside your custom domain email

FranklyMail hosts business email on domains you own. Calendar adds an everyday scheduling workspace to that mailbox: month, week, day and agenda views, with a phone-friendly agenda when you are away from your desk.

Create separate calendars for different parts of your work, choose their colors and show or hide them as needed. Events can include a location, notes and an existing meeting link. Timed appointments and all-day events both have a place.

Your calendar belongs to your mailbox. Use that mailbox’s login to open it, rather than the account credentials you use to manage domains and billing in the FranklyMail panel.

Meeting invitations and recurring events

Add guests to an event to send a meeting invitation. Calendar supports accepted, declined and tentative responses, along with updates and cancellations. You can review the guest list and responses in the event details.

For a weekly catch-up or monthly review, create a recurring event instead of entering each date separately. Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly patterns are supported. Change one occurrence when a meeting moves, or edit the series when the schedule changes for good.

Organizers can also email a note to the event’s guests from its details. The note is a separate email, so sharing an agenda or a preparation reminder does not change the invitation.

Shared calendars and reminders for your team

Share a calendar with another FranklyMail mailbox using its exact email address. Give read access when a colleague only needs visibility, or edit access when you both maintain the schedule. Access can be revoked later.

Set event reminders, including email reminders, to make upcoming appointments easier to keep track of. Display reminders depend on the calendar client you use; an email reminder does not require you to leave a browser tab open.

Connect a calendar app with CalDAV

CalDAV is an open protocol for accessing calendars from compatible applications. FranklyMail exposes a dedicated CalDAV endpoint, so you can connect a supporting calendar app to your mailbox calendar.

  • Server: https://cal.franklymail.com
  • Username: your full FranklyMail mailbox address
  • Password: a mailbox app password, created in the FranklyMail panel

Create a separate app password under Settings → App passwords and use it in your calendar app’s CalDAV account settings. Open the web Calendar once before connecting a device so your default calendar is named after your mailbox.

Setup screens and reminder behavior vary between clients. CalDAV support is available, but we are not claiming every device or application has been individually verified. If discovery fails, check the server address and mailbox credentials, then contact us with the app name and error.

Bring existing events with an .ics file

You can import an .ics calendar file with a preview before saving events. Imports do not send invitations to the people listed in the file. Calendar also supports .ics export, including recurrence and event details.

Start with a small export and check the dates and time zones before moving a larger calendar. A file import is a transfer of events, not an ongoing connection to the service you exported from.

How to get started with FranklyMail Calendar

  1. Open calendar.franklymail.com and choose Login with FranklyMail.
  2. Sign in with your full mailbox address and mailbox password.
  3. Create an event, set its date and time, and add guests if it is a meeting.
  4. For device access, create an app password and connect your calendar app to the CalDAV server above.

What this release does not include

This release does not connect Google or Microsoft accounts for automatic calendar synchronization. It also does not include booking pages, room or resource booking, automatic video-meeting links or drag-to-reschedule. You can paste an existing meeting URL into an event.

Invitations use standards-based calendar messages. That is not a promise that every external provider handles every update identically. Specific Google and Microsoft invitation round trips and individual device apps need their own verification.
